TED is a very cool initiative (similar to "Las ciudad de las Ideas") where speakers from all over the world have a forum to express what they think.
TED gathers professors, writers, artists, entrepreneurs, students, intellectuals, hobbyists and pretty much anyone with something worth saying and simply gives them means to be heard.
